Edison Opera Award 2012.

Jaap van Zweden has won the Edison Opera Award 2012 in company by the NTR ZaterdagMatinee recording of Parsifal. Our fine singers Katarina Dalayman and Krister St. Hill are featured on the recording from Concertgebouw Amsterdam on December 11th 2010 in the roles of Kundry and Klingsor. Congratulations!

Maria Eklund conducts Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra.

On January 24th Maria Eklund conducts for the first time, at Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert within the series “Stars of 21 Century”. On the program Scriabin’s “Reverie” op. 24, Piano concerto op. 20, soloist Miroslav Kultyshev (winner of the Tchaikovsky Contest 2008), Brahm’s Tragic Ouverture op. 81 and Bruch’s Violin concerto op. 26, soloist Frolova.

Premiere for “Karlsson on the Roof”

The opera “Karlsson on the Roof” is based on Astrid Lindgren’s book, Karlsson-on-the-Roof. Carl Ackerfeldt appears as Pelle and Tor Lind sings Bosse in this family opera under the baton of Andreas Lönnqvist. The opera is a collaboration between Malmö Opera and the Royal Opera.

Mezzosoprano Marianne Eklöf appears as Mme de Croissy in Dialogues des Carmélites at the Royal Opera in Stockholm and baritone Garbiel Suovanen sings the titlerole in Wozzeck at Norrlandsoperan in Umeå.

The upcoming baritone Carl Ackerfeldt sings the role of Papageno in Mozart’s wellknown opera Die Zauberflöte at Opera Nordfjord in Norway. Premiere October 1st.

The Royal Opera in Stockholm makes a great set of Bizet’ succesfull opera Carmen. Katarina Dalayman appears for the first time in the title role, Vivianne Holmberg sings Frasquita, Anton Eriksson and Linus Börjesson sings Dancaïro in two different teams.

Jussi Björling 100 years!

The Royal Opera in Stockholm celebrates the memory of Jussi Björling’s birth, February 2nd 1911, on September 2nd with a jubilee concert where our sopranos Katarina Dalayman and Paulina Pfeiffer appears together with the Royal Orchestra under the baton of Stefan Solyom.

The norwegian tenor Kjetil Støa appears in Levanger’s, Kjetil’s birthtplace, celebration of the city’s 1000-year anniversary in the revival of “Red Snow” (Raud Vinter) in Norway.

Carl Ackerfeldt appears in this year’s Baltic Sea Festival at Berwaldhallen in Stockholm in “Förklädd Gud” (Disguised God) and the first performance of piece with text By Dag Hammarskjöld. The concert takes place on the 1st of September.

Patrik Ringborg conducts outdoor concert at Gärdet in Stockholm

Under the baton of Patrik Ringborg the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra plays at the Maritime Museum in Stockholm for the 35th time. The concert takes place on Sunday the 14th and other participators are Nina Persson and Morgan Alling.

Viva Italia in Västerås!

Patrik Ringborg is conducting Västerås Sinfonietta and the soloists Ann-Marie Backlund and Mats Carlsson in a gala concert on Twelfth Night. The audience will be treated with Italian opera high lights and composers such as Puccini, Catalani, Boito, Donizetti, Verdi and others. Presenter is Viveca Ringmar.
