Since 2002 Sune Hjerrild has performed in numerous international engagements. For instance as Tamino in Mozart’s Magic flute, (Sir Neville Mariner/Michael Hampe) at the Megaron Opera in Athens. Also at The Mozart Festival in La Coruña, where he sang the role of Soliman in Zaide, (Graham Vick). To mention a few others he also sang at the Sidney Opera, Teatro di San Carlo in Napoli, Opera de Limoges, Leipzig Oper, Sune Hjerrild is frequently used in concert productions all over the World, Resently he sang the solo tenor in Mendelssohn’s Elijha with RAI in Torino with great success. He also performed with orchestras like Das Gewandthaus Orchester in Leipzig, ZBF in Köln, The Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Teatro San Carlo in Napoli, and the Symphony Orchestra of Palermo. Also he sang Faust in Berlioz’ La Damnation de Faust with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
He has performed Britten’s Serenade at the prestigious Grand Canaries Music Festival, performed at the Brooklyn Academy of Music Festival in New York (BAM), The Sacred Music Festival at Monréale in Sicily, and at The Baltic Sea Festival in Estonia, Finland and Sweden. Finally he performed in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall during the Moscow Easter Festival. This year he sings in Roles like Duca, Rodolfo, and Don Ottavio, and also in concert with repertoire like Beethovens 9th. The Verdi Requiem, Pucinni’s Messa di Gloria, Händel’s Messiah,etc.
During the course of his career Sune Hjerrild has sung with important conductors like Sir Neville Marriner, Jeffrey Tate, Matthew Best, Ion Marin, Friedrich Haider , Manfred Honeck, Gerd Albrecht, Hans-jörg Albrecht, Herbert Blomstedt, Josef Bychkov and many more.
