With his lyrical and captivating bass baritone and warm dark timbre, Andreas Franzén has a musical range from Mozart to Wagner.
Andreas began his musical journey as a composer studying at the Gotland school of composition and at the Aarhus Conservatory. In the following years he studied conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm were he also added vocal studies to his curriculum. Eventually he ended up at the University College of Opera in Stockholm were he took his masters degree in 2010.
Since then Andreas Franzén has been engaged at opera houses such as The Royal Opera in Stockholm, Wermland Opera and Den Norske Opera.
Andreas made his operatic debut as the King of Scotland at the Drottningholm Court Theatre’s production of Ariodante.
Recent and coming engagements include Colline in La Bohème, Saretsky in Eugen Onegin and Marullo in Rigoletto at Norrlandsoperan in Sweden, Bartolo in The Marriage of Figaro at Confidencen Royal Court Theatre in Stockholm, Masetto at the Royal Opera House in Stockholm and Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte at Jyske Opera in Denmark.
