Lena Hellström-Färnlöf

Recital and opera singer Lena Hellström is educated at the University College of Music in Gothenburg (musician and pedagogic specialisation) and at the University College of Opera in Stockholm. She has performed around 20 opera roles on various stages in Sweden (for example Adelé, Antonia, Blondchen, Frasquita, Madama Cortese and Proserpin). Her recital repertoire is wide and includes medieval as well as ultramodern music and she has on several occasions represented the Swedish music scene abroad, in chamber music context and as soloist with orchestra and choir.

Lena Hellström-Färnlöf is employed as Professor at Mälardalens Högskola (Mälardalen University Sweden), with focus on singing, distinction Excellent Teaching. From 2011 she holds the position Artistic Director at the Chamber Music Program at the school. She is active too as vocal coach working with professional singers and regularly gives master classes all over the world. Her students are represented at major Swedish opera houses and at Swedish musical agencies. Lena is also an often asked for expert engaged by institutions like the Swedish Radio Choir. She was for many years teaching at the University College of Opera in Stockholm.
